Our Verdict:
Home-theater-in-a-box (HTIB) systems like the Panasonic SC-BT200 feels like such an incredible deal, especially with a street price of less than $400. You get a 7.1 speaker system, which is two more than the competitors' 5 speaker systems, plus a slim-line AV receiver with an integrated Blu-ray player! If you're on a budget but still fancy a full surround experience, the Panasonic SC-BT200 should be on your list. The system can pack a punch and sound good doing it with its 1000-watt total output power. The iPod integration is a great feature that eliminates cable clutter and it's a feature you will definitely love! The biggest knock against this system is that it doesn't have Netflix or Pandora streaming. But when it comes to big, clear and crisp sounds, the Panasonic SC-BT200 will definitely rock you! |

Customer Feedback-
"It's a crying shame that many people who plunk down their hard earned cash on a flat panel HDTV never bother to add a high quality sound system, or even attach a true high definition 1080i or 1080p source. SC-BT200 Blu-ray Home Theater system addresses all of these issues: it's inexpensive, easy to set up and offers full 1080p high definition Blu-ray playback with matching high definition surround sound. And I didn't even mention the integrated iPod dock or IPTV features!" - Actual User Review - Amazon.com "The speakers are really small, which I wanted. Some may prefer the extra power of the BT-300, I thought about it too, but the extra power is not needed for me. If only it were wireless, but at the price on this unit it is more than I anticipated. Really makes having a great television a very enjoyable home theater system." - Actual User Review - Amazon.com "Given the cost of standalone Blu-ray players, this combo unit is an excellent value. There is no ability to switch video sources but this is not my primary home theatre and a PVR is my only other source so using the TV to switch inputs is not a big deal for us but one HDMI input would have made it perfect. However, my wife is even pleasantly surprised with how easily she's picked it up." - Actual User Review - Reviews.cnet.com "It's a bare bones 7.1 system with Bluray. Video and audio are as good as it gets for a HTIB system. Really amazing for what you get at this price range." - Actual User Review - Tigerdirect.com |
